2014 Rodney Walshe Ireland Essay competition
Registrations are being accepted for the Ireland Essay Competition 2014. The first prize is considered to be one of the most valuable available to schools throughout New Zealand. The winning essay writer will receive a fully expenses paid trip to Ireland in July/August 2014 to participate in a number of summer school courses and stay with an Irish family in Dublin for a period of up to four weeks. It is a truly wonderful experience and all of the previous twenty two winners have returned to New Zealand thoroughly enriched by their unique Irish experience. Entries are accepted from students who are permanent New Zealand residents attending school full time in New Zealand, during the 2013/14 academic year, who are 16 years or over on 31st December 2013 and are under 19 on 31st August 2014. They do not need to be of Irish nationality or descent.
The second and third place winners each receive a gorgeous piece of Waterford Crystal. In addition, the judges award Special Certificates of Merit with $100 book vouchers and Certificates of Merit with $50 book vouchers for entries deserving special recognition. This is a wonderful opportunity for one of your students to achieve a prize of a lifetime. The registration form may be copied for those students wishing to enter.
Ireland Essay registration form, completed, is due at the Consulate General of Ireland, Auckland office, by Friday 20th December 2013 and completed essays must be received at the Consulate General by Friday 25th April 2014.
