Tickets Still Available – Support Your Club!

This weekend is the biggest weekend of the year for the Christchurch Irish Society — and we’d love to celebrate it with you! Join us for a very special evening co-hosted with the New Zealand Rose of Tralee as we proudly present Meet the Roses — a night filled with entertainment, music, laughter, and Irish spirit.

It’s a highlight of the Rose weekend, and we’d really love to see our members there showing their support. Your presence truly makes a difference.

Tickets are still available, but sales close Wednesday 21st May, so don’t miss your chance to be part of this unforgettable night!

Just a wee reminder that Canterbury GAA are kicking off FREE Kids GAA training sessions every Sunday at 10:30am, down on the Spreydon Domain. 29 Domain Terrace, Spreydon. Bring the kids down, and get yourselves a wee treat while the shop is open from 10am-12pm.

 

Kids of all ages and stages are Welcome. We want to thank the Canterbury GAA team and the parents who put their own time and effort into providing free fun sessions for the kids. An absolutely brilliant opportunity for parents to catch up, and the kids to get out of the house and learn skills and drills.

They have a great lineup of old and new dances. All taught. No experience needed. No partners needed.

Úna Ní Fhlannagáin - Irish Traditional Song Workshop

Úna Ní FhlannagáinÚna Ní Fhlannagáin

On Sunday 2nd March. Úna Ní Fhlannagáin, a harpist and singer from Galway, is heading our way and doing her first Aotearoa NZ gig for the Christchurch Folk Music Club. Úna will also be giving a workshop in traditional Irish singing at 2pm on the same day.

 

2 March 2025 | 2pm – 4pm

  • Members $20
  • Non Members $25
  • Students (with ID) $5

Úna has been teaching formally and informally since her teens, and achieved a first class honours postgraduate degree in music education in the University of Limerick. She subsequently undertook specialised training in America, Canada, and Italy. Passionate about music education, she strives to make every class both highly effective, and fun!
