It is with great sadness that we were advised of the passing of our Life Member, Winnie Bergin. On behalf of the Christchurch Irish Society, we extend our condolences to her Family on her passing. A Requiem Mass for Winnie will be Celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday, April 4, at 11.30am, 70 Spencer Street, Addington, Christchurch. A Rosary will be held at the church on Wednesday evening, April 3, at 7.30pm.

To Keely O'Grady, Whitney Burfield-Tatofi & Emily Poole, you will represent the Canterbury region well!
All three are outstanding Ladies, proud to represent their heritage and the wider Irish Diaspora. Representing North Canterbury is Emily, representing Canterbury is Keely, and representing South Canterbury is Whitney. We look forward to supporting you all at the New Zealand Rose of Tralee festival in May.

Introducing our Canterbury Rose of Tralee Contestants
We have three wonderful ladies vying for the title of Canterbury Rose. To help our Rose of Tralee contestants we have three very enthusiastic Rosebuds. They are a bit nervous but looking forward to a bit of fun and a great night at the Commodore Hotel.
Our contestants are Whitney Burfield-Tatofi, Keely O'Grady and Emily Poole.
Our Rosebuds are Róisín Dixon, Hanna O'Sullivan and Caoimhe McCracken
We hope you can come and give your support to these women who are hoping to reach Ireland to step up on our behalf as our Canterbury Rose.

This is destined to be a great evening, with a great new venue. Our outstanding MC for the evening, Colm Hamrogue, is back in attendance, along with our 3 lovely Rosebuds, whom we are introducing this year.
Keep an eye on our facebook page for the introduction of our Rose contestants.
We ask that you book your ticket early to avoid the disappointment of missing out. We ask this as we do have to confirm numbers to the Hotel by Thursday for catering purposes. You can book your tickets here

We are delighted to hold the Canterbury Rose of Tralee Selection 2024
It's an event not to be missed, come along and give our contestants your support.
See if your pick is the same as our Judges!
The winner of the Canterbury Rose of Tralee Selection will receive the Canterbury Rose Cup and Sash, along with flowers. They will then also fly to Invercargill in May, to compete in the NZ Regional Finals, all expenses paid. If successful at the NZ Regional Finals, they will fly all expenses paid to Tralee in Ireland for the International Rose of Tralee Festival in August. All proceeds of this event will go towards helping our Rose get to the next stage of the national finals.
